About this Website

The hike links in the menu above provide information, photos, and tips on some of the most beautiful hikes in the world. Find hikes by location (Arizona, Southern California, Utah, International, etc), natural feature (waterfalls, mountains, lakes, glaciers, caves, slot canyons, coastal areas, sand dunes, etc), season (spring, summer, fall, winter), through our curated selection of photos, or by searching our website. All hikes were photographed, researched, and personally taken by the author and creator of this website, Michael Kovalsky.

As some of the hikes we recommend involve backpacking (multi-day hikes where you carry all your food and gear in a backpack and sleep in the wilderness), we've also provided guidance on backpacking including basics & tips, how to choose the right sleeping bag & tent, gear (recommendations, reviews, best places to shop), best freeze dried food, and must-do backpacking trips.

  1. Our site and social media channels are kept ad-free with no annoying pop-ups, shady clickbait, unnecessary spammy email subscriptions, or affiliate links built into disingenuous gear recommendations/reviews by bloggers.

  2. We only share the best hikes (with the photographs to prove it) so you don’t have to waste your time sifting through pages and pages of hikes that everybody and their mama recommends.

  3. New hikes are periodically added to the site with detailed helpful tips and photography that you can use to help convince others to join you.

  4. Existing pages are continually updated with current information to better help you plan your hike/trip.

Giving Back

As part of Explore More Nature's mission, we want to help support the Sierra Club's Inspiring Connections Outdoors, Los Angeles Chapter (LAICO).  LAICO enables underserved youth to develop an appreciation of nature through outdoor experiences.  They work with schools, the community and other agencies to guide K-12 students on group excursions that help promote individual growth, environmental awareness and outdoors skills.
